Review of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) by Catherine T — 25 Jul 2009
When two actors click, they click. Newman and Redford did so here and in The Sting, with a combined camera presence that pulls you in and makes you forget you're watching a movie. It's more like two friends screwing around in the somewhat Wild West. Oh, and also Bolivia. They speak Spanish there, not that Newman and Redford pick it up beyond a few phrases with which to rob banks.
Excellent cast, fun movie, and a touching story about two guys you really shouldn't like--they DO rob banks and hurt people, after all...
