What separates this from the rest of the westerns is it's blockbuster feel than the gritty, sweaty long pauses. It feels as if Michael Bay directed a well written script with a modest budget. Once you stop expecting this to be a classic western, there is plenty of entertainment to be had and enjoyed.
With a terrific chemistry between Paul Newman and Robert Redford with plenty of humor edging on being farce, it is a smart, light hearted western which doesn't have much not to be liked about.
