Review of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) by Pierce G — 31 Aug 2011
There is no questioning as to why this film has become an American pop-culture icon. The story may be simplistic, but there is a beauty and heart in its simplicity. What really ties the film together, however, is the chemistry between Redford and Newman.
This is one of the few films I've seen until now in which you can't tell that the actors are acting. There is something so real about their on-screen relationship that makes the film seem real.
Everything just works with this movie, and it is punctuated by some absolutely stunning wide-angle shots of the American plains.
