On paper, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid seems like it has all the ingrediants for a good movie-- a talented cast, impressive cinematography, and good editing choices. And though the film does open great, the final result proves, quite frankly, boring.
The entire time I was watching it, I simply wanted these characters to be doing something more interesting. Instead, they just run around a lot, only making minor accomplishments once in a great while.
Many scenes drag on far too long, and some just feel unnecessary (the "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" scene felt like it was from a completely different movie). Overall, though it is not without its worthwhile moments, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid isn't satisfactory.
