The first half of this movie is difficult to watch. Why should I care about a stupid redneck? It hasn't aged well. But the second act of the film redeems the character and his actions towards Marilyn.
Marilyn is very sweet and vulnerable in this movie. Most of Marilyn's best films were plays first (The Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and this one).
