Review of Bus 174 (2002) by Paula Z — 27 Jun 2007
This great documentary sheds light into one of the greatest tragedies the city of Rio de Janeiro has ever witnessed. The surroundings are relevant to the Brazilian socio-economic and political structures, but this movie's role, really, is to question our roles as members of a community.
How much of what we do, or don't do, collaborates to the poverty and the suffering around us? In this movie we get powerful insight from sociologists, politicians, historians, amongst others, on how our environment destroys the livelihoods of many people around the world.
Do not kid youself, this documentary is not only about the proverty in Brazil.
