A shocking and uncompromising documentary, this goes to great lengths to show the world the immense problem of crime and its consequences in Rio, and it succeeds. Sandro is revealed to be a troubled and disturbed youngster just wanting to have a normal life, instead of a common petty criminal.
Though overlong, this is a brilliant, unsettling and profound film.
