Review of Bus 174 (2002) by Robert C — 01 Aug 2008
This documentary studies the life and the events that psychologically lead to Sandro do Nascimento's hijacking of a public transportation bus. It deepens the sympathy of the moment by exposing Rio de Janeiro's faulty and unprofessional law enforcement. The only problem with this formula is that the policemen are more of a nuisance and struggle to watch in what should have been a better handled situation. Perhaps, with proper concern for society, it would've never happened at all. It's similar to watching a suspense film, which the suspense is only drawn out due to ridiculously stupid character choices... of-course, this is no movie.
