Review of Burnt (2015) by Arun G — 14 Jan 2016
No two ways about it, 'Burnt' is the kind of movie that you either love or hate completely. Firstly, the pros..Bradley Cooper puts in a good performance. But Daniel Bruhl stood out. I wish the writing had put a little more emphasis on his character.
Sienna Miller was pretty decent although not exceptional. Coming to the screenplay part, predictability plays spoilsport. You already know what's going to happen after each scene and how the film is gonna end, and the screenplay doesn't surprise you.
At all. The culinary close-ups and kitchen sequences make you feel hungry. Editing is neat as well. The major con of the film is that all the characters fall in templates with the exception of Daniel Bruhl.
Jon Favreau's 'Chef' is a comparatively better film. And yes, it had lots of comedy.
