Essentially a three character chamber piece, the film is able to create an intense, claustrophobic atmosphere despite the open desert landscapes around them. The plot itself is not very original as it deals with an issue seen in several other thrillers (an accidental killing and all the complications that arise from that mistake).

Still, there are several interesting twists and the script is tight, focused, and very resourceful in using everything in its isolated location to its advantage. The acting, though wavers in the beginning, is generally solid, especially by Kenny Johnson as the possibly deranged Lou.

Be warned that the climax is intense and shockingly violent, though it seemed inevitable given the direction the plot was taking. A good, solid thriller.
