Review of Burn After Reading (2008) by John H — 20 Aug 2011
The Coens have disguised their startlingly bleak satire (everyone is an idiot, accidents propel the plot, no one has all the pieces to this puzzle, and there's no happy ending in sight) with their trademark oddball humor to create a dark comedy extraordinaire, aided by a hugely talented cast (I particularly single out Clooney and Pitt) willing to play along with their askew vision.
