Review of Burlesque (2009) by Justin J — 31 Mar 2012
This is one of the worst movie I've ever seen. I'm in the middle of the movie, and I'm about to turn it off. Clearly the movie production (aka Hollywood) has lost their talent and creativity in the musical genre.
The story line is this movie is pretty much lame. Same old. Same old. Consequently, the numbers have nothing to do with the story, or vice versa. I think the main problem with the modern American cinema is around the fact it becomes more and more untrue to life and distant from the one can call reality.
Musicals are supposed to have a plot, even a thin one, but it's part of the movie and it is irritating when it is so distant and fabricated. I am putting aside the fact that singers involved (excluding Cher) cannot act, especially Aguillera.
