Review of Burke & Hare (2010) by Mloy X — 24 Jul 2014
William Burke (Pegg): I had confidence in a fart once, and I shat all over myself.
This was alright but the powers that be could have let Simon Pegg be a little more funny; he seemed a little bit stifled in this role and he (unfortunately) has no chemistry with Isla Fisher, as lovely as she was, I believed she miscast for the role. Andy Serkis was cute, it's just nice to see his actually face in a film instead of being cloaked in CG like usual. Tom Wilkinson was, as always, brilliant. Tim Curry is always good but underutilized in this film. Overall, the story was interesting but with leads like Pegg and Serkis I was half expecting it to be more hilarious, granted it was humorous in a dark, macabre sort of way. I was somewhat entertained but truthfully, it was a bit slow paced which made it a bit dull.
