Review of Burke & Hare (1972) by Gary N — 01 Nov 2010
A crushing disappointment. Simply not funny enough to be worth it and the fact that it isn't all-out farce means that the failure to provide decent characterisation and motivation for the leads seriously undermines any modest attempts at drama or empathy.
Some decent cameos and performances, but the script fails to sparkle and many scenes lack a pay-off in the form of a joke or visual gag, rendering them apparently pointless.
