Review of Buried (2010) by Dan C — 03 Feb 2012
New-To-Me #14: It's amazing how exciting it is to watch Ryan Reynolds in a coffin for an hour and a half. Instead of feeling like a gimmick, which could've very easily happened, the choice to keep the camera inside the coffin for the entire 90 minutes is a brilliant aid to the narrative, allowing the audience to experience the claustrophobia along with the protagonist.
Director Rodrigo Cortes clearly watched a few Hitchcock films before making this film. I was engaged from the beginning to the end. The last 10 minutes in particular had me on the edge of my seat. Definitely check this one out.
It's fantastic.
