Review of Buried (2010) by Baurushan J — 27 Mar 2013
Paul Conroy is an American truck driver who was contracted to work in Iraq and whilst delivering a load of kitchen equipment, he is captured and buried by guerrillas who intend to hold him hostage. Buried in a coffin in the desert and with only 90 minutes of oxygen, using the only supplies in his box, Paul figures a way out, but can he? A brilliantly twisted horror film that is not necessarily a horror movie and focuses more on other twisted genres to get the nightmarish grip throughout the movie from start to finish.
Ryan Reynolds gives a mesmerizing performance from the beginning to the end of the movie. The people that will like these type of movies are ones that are fans of old-fashioned psychological horror movies and for others, it's too boring and nitpicky for them.
Buried gets a weak 8.5/10.
