Review of Buried (2010) by Aditya M — 25 Oct 2013
Alfred Hitchcock's classic 'Rope' was set entirely in one apartment. Sidney Lumet's '12 Angry Men' was shot (mostly) in one room. Spanish director Rodrigo Cortes outdoes the masters by setting himself an even more ambitious and risky constraint: He makes an entire film inside a six by three foot wooden box, and darned if he doesn't succeed marvelously.
Innovative and claustrophobic, 'Buried' finds one smart way after another to keep the thrills coming. It also features Ryan Reynolds in possibly his best performance yet.
