Review of Bunty Aur Babli (2005) by Natasha D — 26 Aug 2007
If you want to watch something deep, meaningful and with a strong story line - this is not the movie for you. If you do however want to be entertained - make sure you disconnect your brain, switch off all reasoning and rationale and just watch this movie for the sake of watching.
While it can be argued that the movie has no story, no sense no..nothing... I would readily argue with anyone who says that the actors have not performed...
Bunty aur Babli is the story of 2 young people who chance upon each other and on fate. Through cons and laughs they go through life... making friends and living a sorta robinhood and robinhoodess(if there were one) life. What I appreciated was the acting... Abhiskek and Rani lend so much charector to these roles - I can?t imagine who else could have played this better... and what can I say about the legendary Big B? The less said the better - you just can?t do justice to that man?s talent.
The scene of the Taj Mahal being sold is just hilarious! I laughed so much!! Especially when Rani (who is playing a minister of some sort says "sut up" for "shut up" LOL" Hilarious!
I don?t say that this is the best movie you?ll watch or have watched... I?m just telling you to watch it for some mindless cinema and a lot of laughs.
