Review of Bunraku (2010) by Rodrigo G — 23 Sep 2011
This film hit me straight in the face by the fact that I had no clue it existed until it showed up on my On Demand menu. An all star cast with some strange surprises. This film starts out weird, like Film Noir meets Dick Tracy, and then halfway through, the videography gets much better.
A lot of the fights are rather silly and quite honestly unbelievable in many cases, like Jackie Chan in a B movie. It holds no ideas that it's better than what it is, a silly broadway-like action comedy, and it holds true to the very end.
It wasn't worth the $6.99 On Demand rental, but it's still a good laugh none the less. Plus seeing Gackt act in English is rather refreshing. PS: It's 2 hr. 5 min long.
