Review of Bunraku (2010) by Sean D — 31 Jan 2012
Besides thw inexplicable title, this movie suffers only from the relatively slow pace of the first two thirds. Stylistically impressive, the comic book sets enhance whilst the japanese architecture provides an excellent back drop for the numerous martial arts battles.
Tightly scripted with a the lack of sentimentality, the cast deliver their lines in true action flick fashion. Overall, better than average once you get past the first hour.
