Review of Bunraku (2010) by Charles C — 10 Nov 2011
The strength of this movie is in it's visual style. Kind of looks like a very colorful pop-up book put on a stage. The story is pretty predictable and the fight scenes aren't very thrilling, although the music is perfect accompaniment for it.
Gackt and Hartnett are pretty good in their roles, and as bad ass as Ron Pearlman is he looked kinda goofy in this one. Not a good movie, but worth checking out if you like Sin City-esque movies. Hey, it's definitely better than The Spirit.
