Review of Bunny and the Bull (2009) by Mike M — 26 Nov 2009
The humour here is not so much off-the-wall as beyond all conventional notions of walls whatsoever, but it's grounded in a winning odd-couple relationship - Hogg brusque and awkward, Farnaby bushy-haired, loping, casually nude - and that weird, distinctive pathos that only ever seems to come through in British comedies: the understanding these are sad, tragic lives we've been invited to observe here, which not even a top layer of jokes can fully cover.
.. It is, at least, a hand-crafted curio, and even as someone who's thus far remained resistant to the Boosh's whimsy, I found myself warming to the film's idiosyncrasies and exquisite sense of timing.
