Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Sara I — 31 Dec 2018

I adored this movie. I thought it was the breath of fresh air. Yes, it's littered with tropes and references to the G1 series(but also made references to Transformers Prime television series).

Characters looked amazing. Story was well done and nobody was acting out of character like with most of the Bay movies where they're really all terrible "people".

This movie was reminiscent of both ET and The Iron Giant but still had plenty of it's own heart and the entire theater was laughing at the jokes.

It wasn't a big story, very small stakes for most of the movie with only one big moment but it's nice to have it be more about the characters and Charlie is much more interesting than Spike or what's his face from the fourth and fifth movie. Yes, she's a bit annoying but also relatable and interesting as you could understand she's going through a rough time.

Bumblebee himself was adorable and I've always been a Decepticon fan so actually rooting for him was fun!

I'd suggest any people who haven't enjoyed the past movies to see it. Most major fans of the Transformers franchise have never liked the Bay movies from previous times but the majority of us have enjoyed this movie immensely!
