I admit I had high hopes when I saw the trailer. It was beautiful and it looked like the transformers movie fans like myself wanted since the first transformers movie that was directed by Micheal Bay.
With talent like Hailee Steinfeld leading this movie it was a total and utter blast. She gave a wonderful and heartfelt performance up until the very end (no spoilers).
With that said, this movie follows a cut and paste script right out of E.T. which I thought was utter bullshit. They could have atleast changed something!
Apart from that this movie is visually beautiful and the relationship between man and machine is respected and heartfelt. There are giant action set pieces that are shot in wide camera that actually lets me know which transformer is actually getting their butt handed to them. - I refer to Dark of the Moon for confusing displays of transformer action.
This movie is must watch but it won't be as enjoyable as you would like it to be... that is if you watched E.T. lol.
