Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Aaron S — 28 Dec 2018
I absolutely fell in love with this film. I hope this movie will get more praise, beacouse I don't want it to suffer beacouse of the previous ones. From the very begining of "Bumblebee" I felt like a little kid whatching his favourite cartoon again.
It felt like a big episode of a show like "The clone wars", or "Batman the animated series" or the origianl "Transformers". I even felt very invested about the humans whereas in the provious movies all what was really worth paying attentioin to was fight scenes with robots and cool VFX.
Here I cared about the story of this girl called Charlie, her relatives and even more. Anpther major plus is the setting of the story which is the 80's. It's where the beloved franchise was born.
Also the music is great,. This movie may not be for everyone but it gratifies the atmosphere of Transformers that will be appreciated by the most dedicated and most demanding fans. I was already told that this movie was good so I sat down in the theatre with good expectations and when I left the cinema I was even still pleasently surprised.
The only little flaw in this film for me is that one of the famous characters from Transformers story line is killed but maybe there'se a chance he will be somehow brought back in a possible sequel or sequels.
And also a couple of scene with John Cena are a little bit cliched angry commander guy that sometimes I feel like are kind of unintentionally funny, but that doesn't really take anything from the movie, if anything it makes it more fun.
Transformers should be like that. Fun. And "Bumblebee" is definetey fun and entertaining. It's really one of my favourite movies ever and without a question best Transformers live-action movie in my opinion.
10/10!
