As an ahem...older dude, I was one of those original G1 transformer kids who understood that the relationship between man and machine was more important than the explosions and the wars and the fighting.
..and as I say in almost every review its all about the story, story story....and let me tell you this group of folks did this transformers movie RIGHT! Getting back to the roots of what made transformers the global phenomenon it has become always means understanding what made it great to begin with and that's all about the relationship between a kid and his friend VW Bumblebee.
This was simply a great story without all the necessary explosions and CGI of its earlier predecessors that failed so miserably. The movie actually made you believe that these robots truly were "more than meets the eye" If I could give this movie more than 5 stars I would.
..if you were a geek like me who loved everything transformers in the 80's you almost certainly are thanking your lucky stars for a movie that finally got it right.
