Review of Bumblebee (2018) by Dan S — 03 Oct 2018

I was just really happy that we finally got the original G1 models in a live action film. I also just really liked the fact that I could actually name all the characters on screen in. I found the first two minutes of this film to be fantastic, and how I would kill to get a full 2 hours of that. In my first viewing of the film I remember starting to tear up when I saw all of my favorite characters come to life once again on the big screen, but better than ever. I almost completely lost it when I heard Soundwave speak. During this entire scene I was in complete lost for words and I don't think I blinked once. I can also definitely say the first few minutes of this movie is one of the best experiences I have ever had watching a film. Also Cybertron here actually looked really damn nice. One big thing that I didn't see coming was the appearance of Cliffjumper and how quickly he died. Which this made me quite upset in my first viewing cause Cliff hasn't been able to catch a break in the past decade. Other than that I can also say that the action was a really nice addition here. In the bayformer films most of the time you couldn't really tell what the hell was happening at times, and everything was always really messy. Well here you got clean action that you could actually watch, and you knew every character on the screen and what there motivations were. I also felt as they chose a fine cast and they all did a pretty good job on screen. The humans here were actually quite likable and the presence of John Cena was definitely a special experience. Another huge thing this film brought to the table was that it actually had heart and wonder. And it just might of brought this franchise out of the grave for a fresh new life. Overall this film was something I really enjoyed and had a lot of fun with.
