Review of Bully (2011) by Karungari G — 21 Nov 2011
Wow. It's hard to sit through the first 10-15 minutes of a Larry Clark film because the lack of budget sticks out horribly, but once you get used to the amateur filmmaking and past the teenage porn... it becomes an exceptional drama about real life crime: the plot of murder.
The suspense and guilt felt when watching this movie is sickening. At first these people (these kids) seem like they belong to a different planet and that you can not relate at all to them, but once you get past the idea that they're just white trash (which sounds horribly judgmental on my part)... the feeling like you are there is nerve-racking. It feels so fucking real.
