Review of Bully (2001) by Saysana S — 06 Oct 2007
Having yet to see KIDS, I'd heard about Larry Clark's notoriety for inciting controversy regarding the representation of teenage sexuality in such a brutually straight-forward (if not, explotative?) way.
With BULLY, I was expecting to be disturbed by the mindless teenage sex, drugs and recklessness. The film culminates towards the killing, almost making the audience complicit to violence being played on the big screen.
Strong performances from the central characters, working also from a good script make this film highly watchable but difficult at the same time.
