Review of Bully (2001) by Melissa P — 16 Jul 2010
Disclaimer: Before seeing this movie, everyone must know that this movie is extremely difficult to watch. At times, it even feels like an exploitation film. It's unrelenting look at the brutal killing of a bully by a group of classmates is not for weak stomachs.
There also is some sex scenes that many people would find very uncomfortable. This is also, in it's own sick way, a kind of masterpiece. While I was very uncomfortable watching it, the acting and directing style made this movie extremely genuine.
The realism is what made this movie something I had never seen before. It's disgusting at times, but a very important movie for those who want to know how some troubled kids really live.
