Review of Bully (2001) by Sinai J — 11 Mar 2010
Based on a real murder story this can be VERY uncomfortable to watch. It makes little excuse for the characters of the young people involved in killing off Bobby (Nick Stahl) who is a bully, especially towards his "best friend" Marty (Brad Renfro) and Marty's girlfriend's (Rachel Miner)best friend (Bijou Phillips).
The story is told in a somewhat flat paneled way with no real depth or wonder as to why each of these characters ARE the way they are, which for me left the who movie sort of flat. There is no doubting the good performances by the young lead characters, most of whom have gone onto make much better movies than this one.
It's worth a watch if a fan of Stahl or Renfro.
