Review of Bullitt (1968) by David B — 30 May 2008
Every contemporary action filmmaker owes a debt to this film. And even though they've all ripped it off, the famous car chase is still pretty awesome. Mainly because you know the stunts are real - and that Steve McQueen is doing most of his own driving! You can see his reflection in the rear view mirror.
Unfortunately the rest of the movie is a bit of a slog. Maybe this was to enhance the impact of the car chase? Nah, I think it was just slow going.
