Steve McQueen is at his best in this action thriller,before Dirty Harry came out this was the first of the cop action films. The car chase sequence on the streets of San Francisco is the major standout in this film.
McQueen insisted on doing his own stunts mainly because he had a love for cars and racing. This was made at a time when u didn't need permission to film car chases on the streets. This film is the grandaddy of all cop films.
