Review of Bullitt (1968) by Mark S — 02 Jun 2010
This is better than I remembered it being. Okay, so the screenplay wasn't likely to win any awards but the direction is taut, the cast is engaging and the action is exciting and was very much groundbreaking for its time.
In a way it has a lot to answer for but it's pretty much the definitive example of how car chases and the like should be done. Mcqueen's 'reacting' acting style was probably never used better than in this film.
