Review of Bullitt (1968) by Kase V — 19 Apr 2011
I realize Bullitt is regarded as highly influential and well made (and I believe it is), but I felt a bit bored watching. An epic car chase is really the only thing that gets you excited, and man, is it epic.
McQueen plays a cool suave policemen and pulls it off fine, with style. The on-foot chase at the end in the airport is pretty realistic and impressive, although not captivating. And that, is how the whole movie should be summarized.
Well done, just not captivating enough.
