Review of Bullitt (1968) by Jason J — 01 Oct 2010
Bullitt is an extraordinary movie - memorable, powerful, and absolutely riveting. The plot has twists and turns that are believable and lack any pretense of being forced or artificial. Steve McQueen really was The King Of Cool and this is one of his best movies.
He demonstrated in this movie why he is one of the most loved actors of all time. The car chase is unequaled to this day - no dramatic music, no overly suspenseful camera work, just a flat out race between two bellowing muscle cars.
Lalo Schifrin contributed a superb unforgettable score. Bullitt is a great, classic police thriller that's stood the test of time. Definitely recommended.
