Review of Bullitt (1968) by Kenneth S — 03 Sep 2009
Police protect witness, witness gets bumped off, Frank Bullitt investigates, car chase, witness not what he seemed.
Can car chases really get any better than this? The look & feel of the film are very late sixties but it works & the music is brilliant.
Steve McQueen plays the cold, calculated Frank Bullitt & fits into the role well with not too much dialogue.
Very iconic & many scenes have been replicated. (Did anyone else think Heat ripped off the ending here?).
I'm sure Will Ferrell got the Ron Burgundy's Jazz Flute from this too.
