Review of Bullets Over Broadway (1994) by Richard K — 04 Aug 2007
Cusak is the perfect replacement for the WA character. Diane Wiesst and Cahz Palimenteri are incredible. the dialogue, as in most Allen films is incredible. I think this film works better with Cusack than it would have with WA playing his usual angst-ridden self.
I saw Play It Again Sam once in Nanaimo, and that was better without WA as the lead. He's a great director, but he can only do himself when he's in front of the camera. This works really well, and is a great essay on Fame and Fortune.
.. This is the movie that made me fall in love with Diane.
