Review of Bullets Over Broadway (1994) by Theo M — 05 Nov 2009
A play becomes a success when the highbrow dialogs get rewritten by the bodyguard of a wannabee actress, the sweetheart of a mobster who financed the play to let her get a career. When the mobster girl turns out to be a lousy actress, she gets killed by her own bodyguard, who on his turn gets liquidated. Meanwhile playwright David realizes he is not an artist after all and he wants to marry his disappointed girlfriend, instead of having an affair with an elderly actress with an alcohol problem.
"Look, I haven't had a drink since New Year's eve.".
"You're talking Chinese New Year's.".
"Naturally. Still that's two days, Sid, do you know how long that is for me?".
