Review of Bullets Over Broadway (1994) by John S — 05 Nov 2009
Perfection just seems too broad a term to describe this dazzling situational comedy which just so happens to be crafted by woody allen. the supporting cast is stellar, crafting a play that is so believable yet so ludicrous at the same time.
the look of this film is gorgeous as well. john cusack plays the straight man, a playwright whose fame and success come from all the most unlikely places. the humor comes from the matter-of-factly the movie plays out.
I would say dianne wiest steals the show, but in no way does she overpower any of the other roles. there is a harmony here that is to die for!
