Bull Durham is perhaps the most overrated sports movie of all time. I never laughed once nor found myself ever "lost" in the plot or characters, yet it is billed as not only a comedy, but one of the funniest and most original sports films of all time. It was nothing more than decent, at best.
Perhaps Bull Durham has gained its reputation because the realm of "quality sports films" is so shallow (only Field Of Dreams, Baseketball, Bad News Bears and For The Love Of The Game come to mind).
At least it was better than Major League 2.
