Review of Bull Durham (1988) by Bob V — 15 Nov 2010
Holder of the undisputed "Greatest Sports Movie Ever" title, it's also a pretty good movie in its own right, with both Sarandon & Robbins naming it their personal favourite one they have made in their respective careers.
Witty dialogue, zinging one-liners, steamy sexy business, sports as a metaphor for life and excellent casting make it a delight.
It also reminds us of a better day, a simpler day, when Tim Robbins was thin, Kevin Costner was kind of hot, and Susan Sarandon cougared Robbins right up to the altar (she's still hot of course, I love you Susan Sarandon).
