Review of Bull Durham (1988) by Gregory L — 07 Feb 2009
Bought this off the 4 dollar Wal-Mart rack and watched it again! What a great sports movie. that follows some of the trials and tribulations of minor league baseball. If there wasn't a movie called Slap Shot it would be my favorite sports movie of all time. The AFI has it at #5 behind some pretty good movies #1 Raging Bull, #2 Rocky, #3 The Pride of the Yankees, and #4 Hoosiers. I have to question their tastes when a gem like Slap Shot is not even in the top 10 when Jerry mcguire, Breakaway, and National velvet round it off. #6 Hustler (awesome), #7 Caddyshack (almost better than BD) in case you were wondering.
I would recommend all of these movies except for 8, and 9 since I have not watched them, but put them in my queue to watch at a later date!
