Review of Bug (2007) by Michael T — 27 Feb 2010

If you know Friedkin's other films you'll quickly understand what appealed to him about Bug, and why he chose to make this movie. It's a psychological thriller with extreme paranoid horror and it is ultimately very disturbing.

Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon are just surreal together and the movie often lapses into its own sort of schizoid breaks with reality. It literally makes your skin crawl, and if it weren't so well made I'd probably hate it.

As it is I doubt I'll want to see it again any time soon.
