Review of Bug (2007) by Kenneth B — 02 Nov 2012
This in an interesting film from William Friedkin. Its greatest asset is the lead paring of Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon. Shannon does the paranoia thing that he is eerily proficient at (also see My Son My Son, What Have Ye Done? and Take Shelter) while Judd puts in one of the performances of her career.
She probably should get more recognition as an actress. Unfortunately what begins as an interesting character drama loses itself in the final 20 minutes as the ramblings get just a bit too fantastical.
