Review of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) by Megan F — 17 Mar 2013

Being a huge fan of Joss Whedon and also being a fan of the, Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv show, I gotta say this movie was really awful. Yes, I did watch the tv series before I watched this crappy ass movie and of course the tv series is really good, it's well acted, it's well written, it's also funny, dramatic and really dark.

Joss Whedon and his crew members made that show incredible, I think, Joss Whedon is one of the best tv show creators out there, all my favorite shows, like Firefly, Angel, Dollhouse and Buffy the Vampire Slayer were all created by him.

Joss Whedon has also done some great movies, like he wrote and direct, The Avengers, he wrote and direct the movie, Serenity and he wrote the movies, Speed, The Cabin in the Woods and Toy Story, so as you can tell he's got some real talent, but this movie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the first movie he wrote and it's pretty much the worst movie he did.

First off, the acting in this movie is really terrible, Kristy Swanson plays the role of, Buffy Summers all wrong, she's no, Sarah Michelle Gellar who played the role of, Buffy incredibly well. Luke Perry was also in this film and he was just as worse as, Kristy Swanson, both of there performances were weak and they had no chemistry with each other.

Big stars, like Donald Sutherland and Rutger Hauer are in this movie and they were okay, I feel bad that they were in this shitty movie, but I guess they tried there best. Also, Hilary Swank and David Arquette were small roles in this movie and just like everyone else they were terrible.

The make-up and special effects were also terrible, the action was a complete bore and the ending did feel rushed, which was good because I wanted this movie to end right away, so I guess that was good.

All in all this movie sucks, it's nothing compared to the tv show and it's nothing compared to, Joss Whedon's other movies. This film, is just a stupid teen movie that has bad jokes and terrible acting, I would skip this movie and go watch the tv series instead because the show was really good.
