Review of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) by Rob C — 26 Feb 2010
Maybe it's my nostalgia for older films, but I thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a lot better then the long-running TV series it spawned. I just couldn't see Sarah Michelle-Gellar as Buffy. Yes, it has corny one-liner dialogue with some obnoxious dramatic-like acting, but it worked out really well for these types of characters.
Kristy Swanson and Rutger Hauer had that appealing way of delivering their scenes that basically out-matched the runner-up series. The only thing I couldn't stomach was Luke Perry and his derelict nature.
This film could have done without him.
