I went into this expecting a straight Western, so I was quite pleasantly surprised. Although there is some naive cynicism, especially when it comes to the magical mythologised Injuns, I liked the commentary on American celebrity culture and the role of the actor in film.
The '70s haircuts were pretty silly though!
