Review of Buffalo '66 (1998) by Jason C — 28 Mar 2008

Impressive directorial debut from Gallo, who would later be pilloried for the egotistical, existential and arguably excellent 'Brown Bunny.' While Gallo excels as self-pitying patsy Billy Brown, there are equally impressive turns from an all star cast comprised of Angelica Huston, Ben Gazzara, Christina Ricci and Jan-Michael Vincent (anyone remember 'Airwolf?').

Here, Gallo's vision is unique, visceral, poetic and (at times) achingly cool, yet for fans of 'Prince Vince' frustration lies in the fact that he simply doesn't do it often enough.
