Review of Buffalo '66 (1998) by J B — 19 Jun 2008
There's an intensity and mania about vincent gallo's billy that reminds me of 70's era de niro; talking slightly too loud and slightly too fast with something both smooth and clumsy about his gangly movements.
this is a sweet, funny, utterly unoffensive ilm that seems to be pitching itself as something darker and more edgy. it doesn;t need to, it;s pefect as it is; wonderful supporting characters particularly the parents, billy's fits of petulant pique and the painfully tender moments as the kidnaped wendy tries to reach out to him.
